reported that data released last Friday by UNICEF showed that “the number of adolescents dying from AIDS has tripled over the last 15 years.” The report also showed that most “acquired the disease when they were infants.” The report further disclosed that “AIDS is the number one cause of death among adolescents aged 10 to 19 in Africa and the second leading cause of death among adolescents globally.” However, “only one in three of the 2.6 million children under the age of 15 living with HIV are on treatment.”
