On the front of its Personal Journal section, the Wall Street Journal (1/26, D1, Bachman, Subscription Publication) reports that some professional and college athletes are using vitamin D in an effort to prevent injuries and even improve athletic performance. According to the Journal, the Endocrine Society’s recommendation for adequate vitamin D levels is between 40 and 60 ng/ml.
