“Normalizing vitamin D levels correlated with lower insulin resistance and decreased adipose fibrosis in obese patients,” researchers found. Included in the study were “11 obese patients, with an average body mass index of 34 kg/m2, insulin resistance, and vitamin D deficiency” and eight controls. The findings were presented at the Eastern regional meeting of the American Federation for Medical Research.
