reports that research suggests that “for postmenopausal women, traditional body mass index (BMI) cutoffs for classifying obesity may be too high.” Investigators found that “the sensitivity of defining obesity with a BMI of 30 was low among postmenopausal women with a body fat percentage of 35 or greater – the commonly accepted threshold for defining obesity.” The findings were published online in Menopause.
