reports, “Among more than 1,200 young white and black women (mean age 24.2), increasing lactation duration was associated with a graded 25% to 47% relative reduction in the incidence of diabetes, even after accounting for factors such as prepregnancy biochemical measures, clinical and demographic risk factors, gestational diabetes...and lifestyle behaviors,” researchers found. The findings were published online in JAMA Internal Medicine.
