Having Low Amount Of Fat Storage In The Legs May Be Strongest Determinant Of Metabolic Risk In Lean Subjects,
reports that “having low amount of fat storage in the legs was the strongest determinant of metabolic risk in lean subjects,” researchers found, “while intra-abdominal fat (fat located around the body organs rather than just under the skin) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease were the biggest determinants of metabolic risk in obese individuals.” The findings of the 981-participant study were published in the journal Cell Metabolism. http://www.medicaldaily.com/thin-legs-may-be-sign-poor-metabolic-health-lean-individuals-420770
The results also showed that having low amount of fat storage in the legs was the strongest determinant of metabolic risk in lean subjects, while intra-abdominal fat (fat located around the body organs rather than just under the skin) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease were the biggest determinants of metabolic risk in obese individuals.
So fat stored in the deep viscera of the belly instead of the legs behaves differently in a bad way.
