HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Not Widely Used.
On the front of its Personal Journal section, the Wall Street Journal (12/22, D1, Reddy, Subscription Publication) reports that although the CDC estimates that 1.2 million Americans could benefit from using Truvada (emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) to prevent the spread of HIV, fewer than 22,000 people are estimated to take the drug.
