More Frequent Sex May Be Linked To Lower Risk Of Early Menopause, Study Suggests

reports that research published in Royal Society Open Science indicates “women who have sex at least once a month have a lower risk of entering menopause early than women with less active sex lives.” Newsweek (1/14, Gander) reports that the study “involved 2,936 women in the U.S. who were aged between 42 and 52 at the start of the study, and hadn’t yet experienced the menopause.” Participants “told the authors of the paper presented in the journal Royal Society Open Science how often they had engaged in a sexual activity over in the past six months.” Newsweek adds, “That included sexual touching or caressing, oral sex, sexual intercourse and masturbation.” https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-sex-menopause/women-who-have-more-sex-have-lower-risk-of-early-menopause-scientists-idUSKBN1ZE00P
